60 Minute Session -

What is Counselling?
The overall aim of therapy is to provide you with an opportunity to talk about your difficulties from your past or present life in a safe environment without feeling judged. It's a space where you can share and work through your thoughts and feelings, worries and concerns, that may be stopping you from living a more fulfilling life.
Counselling is a confidential relationship in which a client and a counsellor would meet regularly, usually once per week to work on specific issues. Sometimes the issues and what the client wants to achieve are clear and at other times the client may feel unsure and may want to use counselling to obtain clarity around some difficulty or confusion.
Some of the issues experienced by clients coming to therapy:
People experiencing feelings of:
depression
loneliness
stress
anger
anxiety
Issues around:
identity
sexuality
relationships
addiction
low self-
body image
Difficulties in coping with:
bereavement
breakdown of a relationship
abuse or rape
family upbringing
loss
trauma
work
change
How does it work?
The first session is an assessment session that provides a client with an opportunity to discuss any issues he/she may want to bring into counselling as well as ask any questions. Together they decide how to proceed in terms of any future sessions. The length of time could be a few weeks or longer, providing that both client and counsellor feel that it is beneficial to the client.
Is Counselling right for you?
If you are unsure whether counselling is something that could be helpful for you, you can meet with a counsellor for an initial 30 minute session.
